The Delaware Valley Bluegrass Festival is back for its 44th year and those throughout Turnersville, Mount Laurel and Cherry Hill are gearing up for a full day of music, food and fun. Located in Woodstown, NJ, this weekend-long event is set to take place from September 4th to September 6th.

However, since it is a popular event with so many performers, it can be tough to figure out who's who and who to see. So whether you're a bluegrass lover or just looking to expand your musical tastes, here are the top five bands you need to check out at the 44th Annual Delaware Valley Bluegrass Festival.

Steve Riley & the Mamou Playboys

Formed in 1988, Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys is a Cajun band hailing from southern Louisiana. They are best known for their distinctive sound created with violins, accordions and overall smooth groove. With 10 albums their belt, they've become very popular in the music industry. So much so that they've been nominated for two Grammy Awards in the Best Traditional Folk Album category. At the Delaware Valley Bluegrass Festival, they're scheduled to take the stage on Friday September 4th.

Sierra Hull

At only age 23, Sierra Hull has already made a name for herself within the Bluegrass community.  She signed to Rounder Records at the age of 13, and her first album, Secrets, peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Top Bluegrass Album chart. From there she released another album, Daybreak, in 2011 where she composed 7 out of the 12 tracks. And during that entire time, the International Bluegrass Music Association has nominated her for about 8 awards. Sierra Hull will perform a set on Saturday, September 5th at the Bluegrass Festival in Woodstown.

Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver

Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver has a long and rich history within the Bluegrass community. Originating around the 1970's this 6-person band has created over 40 albums, been nominated for multiple Grammys and their front man, Doyle Lawson, was inducted into the International Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame in 2012. Known for hits like "Rock My Soul" and "Little Mountain Church House," Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver will take the stage at the Bluegrass Festival on Sunday, September 6th.

Hot Rize

Hot Rize hails from Colorado and first graced the world with their music in 1978. They disbanded in 1990 with 6 studio albums, but soon after they played several reunion shows across the country. In 2014, they released their latest album, "Hot Rize," and went out on tour after 20 years to support it. Now, they're set to take the stage at the Delaware Valley Bluegrass Festival on Friday, September 4th for all of South Jersey to hear. 

Marty Stuart & the Fabulous Superlatives

Marty Stuart & the Fabulous Superlatives banded together in 2003 with Bluegrass and country legend, Marty Stuart, as the front man. Though formed later in Stuart's career, this band has had some notable singles, including "If There Ain't, There Ought'a B"and "Too Much Month (At the End of Money)."Marry Stuart & the Fabulous Superlatives will take the stage on Saturday September 5th at the festival in Woodstown.

The 44th Annual Delaware Valley Bluegrass Festival in Woodstown, NJ is set to take place on Labor Day weekend from September 4th to September 6th.
