With New York’s famous Macy’s fireworks show being moved this year, Mount Laurel, NJ, residents would have to drive about an hour to NYC to watch the fireworks or drive up to 30 minutes to Philadelphia for their spectacular show.

But New Jersey has stepped up this year to present their own fireworks show since it New York moved their display toward Brooklyn. However, there are other firework shows going on much closer to Mount Laurel residents.

New Jersey City will present one of the largest fireworks shows in Liberty State Park at 9 pm. More than 50,000 people are expected to attend.

You can catch other Fourth of July fireworks celebrations in Bloomfield and Bridgewater, NJ. Bloomfield’s show will be held in Foley Field JFK Drive at 9 pm, and in Bridgewater at the North Branch Park, there’s a festival geared toward children, with a magic show, horse rides, and a large slide starting at 5 pm. These areas are located about an hour away from Mount Laurel.

On Thursday, July 2 in Somerset, NJ, at the Franklin Township Municipal Building, there will be kids’ activities along with food and live music starting at 6 pm. The fireworks show begins at sundown. This is less than an hour from Mount Laurel.

During the State Fair in the Meadowlands of East Rutherford on July 3 and 4, there will be many events to enjoy along with fireworks. Make a day of it with the family or friends, enjoying the live entertainment, games and prizes, and a petting zoo. The fireworks show starts after 9 pm.

Take a trip over to Ashbury Park, where there will be a spectacular fireworks show on July 4 at 9 pm on 5th Avenue Beach. Go early to enjoy shopping in local shops and eating at restaurants while strolling along the boardwalk.

Despite the cuts made in the state’s budgets, there are many choices of firework shows for Mount Laurel, NJ, residents. However, if you’re more familiar with watching the New York skyline during the show, you can still see the NY show if you travel over the Brooklyn Bridge.

Philadelphia is also nearby and will offer another amazing show, but New Jersey residents will have a few areas that will continue to provide a display of fireworks even though some traveling is required to get there.
