Many people in the Philadelphia area know about the Preston & Steve morning show on 93.3 WMMR and their yearly Camp Out for Hunger. From November 30to December 4 this year, the show will broadcast at Xfinity Live in Philadelphia for the annual food drive.
For an entire week, the show will collect food and monetary donations for Philabundance to help feed the hungry in the area, and we here at Prestige Subaru and the entire Prestige Family of Dealerships are proud to announce our participation in this year’s event!
About the Camp Out for Hunger
Since 1998, the Preston and Steve Camp Out for Hunger has collected more than 2,500 tons of non-perishable food and nearly $750,000 in donations for Philabundance, a non-profit food bank that serves Philadelphia and Delaware Valley. During the camp out, hosts Preston Elliot and Steve Morrison live in an RV in the Xfinity Live parking lot in Philadelphia.
Prestige Subaru and the Prestige Family of Dealerships have proudly participated in this event in the past, and we’re looking forward to doing it again in 2015. So in the weeks leading up to the Preston and Steve Camp Out for Hunger, we’ll be collecting food and monetary donations to lend a helping hand in the fight against hunger in the area.
Fun, Games, and Charity
The Preston & Steve show is one of the most notable morning shows in the Philadelphia area. They’ve had the pleasure of welcoming the rock world’s most prominent bands, world famous actors, and popular TV celebrities to their program. Plus they know how to joke around and play games. For example, they created the Pope Bot, their version of the hitchBOT, which traveled throughout the Greater Philadelphia area in the weeks leading up to Pope Francis’ visit in September 2015.
So this year’s Camp Out for Hunger wouldn’t truly be a Preston and Steve event without great entertainment and fun-filled games. The official list of guests, live performances, and schedule has yet to be released. However, based on previous years, you can expect appearances by director M. Night Shyamalan and chef Robert Irvine, carnival rides and innovative games, and a stage featuring both big name and local bands.
