The 2016 Subaru Forester and the 2016 Honda CR-V are the top choices for any driver looking for a new SUV, and rightfully so. These vehicles perform beautifully in all weather conditions and are dependable enough to be your go-to family car, but which model is best for you?

Prestige Subaru works to make sure you drive home in the ideal car for your lifestyle. That's why we're helping you make your car buying decision with the 2016 Subaru Forester vs 2016 Honda CR-V vehicle comparison below.

Comparable Interior Space

One of the biggest reasons drivers choose the 2016 Subaru Forester and the 2016 Honda CR-V is because of their large interior space. Both have enough room to fit a family of five without feeling cramped.

Inside the Subaru Forester, there's 108 cubic feet of passenger space. There's also 43 inches of legroom in the front and 38 inches of legroom in the back. In addition to a large seating area, the SUV also includes a maximum cargo volume of 74.7 cubic feet.

The Honda CR-V offers less space: its seating area is only 104.1 cubic feet, and it only has 70.9 cubic feet of maximum cargo space. The CR-V, however, does offer similar measurements in legroom so that passengers may have a little bit of room to stretch.

Impressive Infotainment Options

The Subaru Forester comes with the Subaru STARLINK™ infotainment system with all-new safety and security packages. Designed to deliver peace of mind, these packages will add Automatic Collision Notification, Stolen Vehicle Alert and a number of remote services. On top of that, this infotainment option provides great entertainment with mobile apps and advanced features.

Like the Forester, the Honda CR-V offers an available infotainment system to help you enjoy your drives. Unfortunately, this system does not provide access to remote services or any other and security features.

Power and Performance

In terms of power and performance, the Forester does not disappoint. It has a standard 2.5L Subaru BOXER® engine with an innovative horizontal design to boost overall performance. With this, you'll get 170 horsepower. A 250 horsepower 2.0L turbocharged Subaru BOXER® engine is also available for the Forester. Both engines work with the available Lineatronic® Continuously Variable Transmission to enhance fuel economy as well, so the standard option gets an EPA-estimated 32 highway mpg, and the available engine provides an EPA-estimated 28 highway mpg.

Best of all, every trim level of the 2016 Forester comes with standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive to ensure control and stability in adverse road conditions.

The Honda CR-V only comes with one engine option: a 2.4L I-4 engine. This gets up to 185 horsepower, but since it's the only option available, that's all the power you'll be able to experience. On top of that, this SUV does not come with a standard All-Wheel Drive system.
